Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in the Langdale Hospice House. He was born on October 31, 1924 in Naylor, GA to the late John & Ruth (Tyler) Wilkes. Mr. Wilkes served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of Pleasant Way Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Wilkes, a daughter, Catherine Geddings and a brother, Jimmy Wilkes
Survivors include his Daughters & Sons-in-Law, Paulette & Jeffrey Eberhard of Mountain Rest, SC,
Pamela & Charles Saul of Okeechobee, FL; Grandchildren, Donna Hedgepath, John Eberhard, Jason Geddings; Great Grandchildren, Virginia Chappell, Amanda Hedgepath, John Eberhard Jr., and Justin Eberhard. 2 Sisters Katherine Yancey of Naylor and Ruth & Gene Gaskins and several nieces, nephews and extended family members
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Pleasant Way Baptist Church in Naylor with burial to follow in the church cemetery. No formal visitation will be held. . in lieu of flowers please make donations in John Wilkes name to Langdale Hospice house 2263 Pineview Dr, Valdosta, GA 31602.
