Laura Smith Webb, 34, of Valdosta, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 16, 2024, following a sudden illness. Born on April 11, 1990, in Valdosta, GA, Laura was the beloved daughter of Terry Lee Smith of Valdosta and Deborah (Reaves) Rehberg of Adel, GA.
Laura’s academic journey was marked by excellence and dedication. She graduated as Valedictorian from Southland Christian School in 2008 and went on to achieve dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Nursing from Valdosta State University. Her deep-seated passion for helping others led her to a fulfilling career in nursing. At South Georgia Medical Center – Smith Northview Campus, Laura served as a pre-operative nurse, where her exceptional care earned her four DAISY Awards, a testament to her unwavering commitment and compassion.
Laura had a profound love for animals and had a heartfelt desire to adopt and care for as many as she could. In her free time, she enjoyed decorating her new home, pouring her creativity and joy into every detail.
Laura’s sudden passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the light she brought into the lives of those around her.
Her maternal grandfather: Sammy L. Reaves, paternal grandfather: Earl J. Smith and Aunt: Lynn Smith preceded her in death.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 23, 2024, in Covenant Baptist Church, 3019 Country Club Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602 with burial following in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, August 22, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of South Georgia.
