Rita Mathis - 75
Rita was born on October 1, 1943 in Pensacola FL to the late Mark Harold Senior and Lela Elizabeth Bryars. Her life came to a pause on Sunday, July 21, 2019.
As a young girl, she loved to visit the beach near her childhood home in Florida. Rita married and created a loving home for her three children and husband. As the years passed, she developed a passion for helping and caring for others. As a result, she returned to school and earned a nursing degree. She delighted in caring for children, spending many years as a pediatric nurse. She retired to her home, the Mathis Farm, to work alongside the love of her life, James. They enjoyed growing vegetables, having friends and family to visit and sharing laughter together. She treasured her time with family, making fond memories with her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the young ones in her congregation.
She was a faithful servant of Jehovah God for 64 years. For Rita, serving Jehovah was not merely something she did, it was who she was. She loved attending her Christian meetings, going out in the ministry and associating with her cherished brothers and sisters, who she considered her family. Her hope is to be reunited with her family and friends in Paradise on Earth when the promise at Psalms 37:29 is fulfilled.
She will be lovingly remembered by her Son, Bradley Proulx of Naylor; Grandchildren; Jerry (Stephanie) Proulx, Derik (Blake) Proulx, Josh (Robin) Justice, Kelly ( Bryce) Justice, Christina Justice, Jeremy Threadgill, Krystal Smith; 16 Great Grandchildren; Brothers; Mark Bryars of Waycross, Charles Bryars of California; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and her spiritual brothers and sisters.
Sister Mathis was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Mathis, 2 daughters, Karlin and Michelle, Granddaughter, Jesika Proulx, and 2 Sisters, Linda & Anita.
