Of Valdosta passed away Sunday, November 09, 2014 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born on May 18, 1967 in Columbus, GA to the late Gerald Thrasher and Dorothy Jean Riles Hasson. She was a member of "The Gathering Church" and the Exchange Club. She was previously the director of the House of Hope. She will always be remembered for that amazing smile that would brighten your day. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father, Russell Gene Hasson.
Survivors Include: Husband, Jim Wiersma, Valdosta, GA; Best Friend & "Sister", Brooke Harrison, Valdosta, GA; Son & Daughter-in-law, Chad & Rachel Whitaker, Atlanta, GA; Daughter, Candice Whitaker, Columbus, GA; Grandchildren: Ella Whitaker and Grady Parks; Brothers & Sister-in-laws: Carl & Dawn Thrasher, Smith Station, AL, Gary & Brenda Thrasher, Columbus, GA, Michael & Carol Hasson, Smith Station, AL and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 16, 2014 at The Gathering Church in Valdosta with the Rev. Gary Minton. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com . Music Funeral Services/Azalea Crematory is serving the Wiersma family.
