Thomas “Tommy” Mitchell Folsom, Sr., age 71, of Hahira, Georgia passed away on July 4, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on July 6, 1952, in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Kelcey “K. E.” Folsom and Gladys Sellers Folsom. Tommy worked for Lowndes County Board of Education for 36 years, where he retired as the transportation director. After retiring as transportation director, he went to work for the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners as a shop foreman. Tommy enjoyed fishing and playing with his dog Max. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was able to fix anything. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Marianne Folsom Register.
His survivors include his wife of 52 years, Paula N. Folsom of Hahira, Georgia; son Thomas Mitchell “Mitch” Folsom, Jr. (Shea) of Ray City, Georgia; grandson, Thomas Hunter Folsom of Ray City, Georgia; grandson Elijah “Eli” Mitchell Folsom of Ray City, Georgia; mother of Hunter and Eli, Cathy Hart of Ray City, Georgia; granddaughter, Aubrey Iris Register of Marshall, Illinois; Aubrey’s dad, Ike Register; sister, Gwen Strom(Tommy) of Lake Park, Georgia; sister, Cindy Morris (Brian) of Fitzgerald, Georgia; brother, Ron Folsom (Ann) of Dalton, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; dogs: Max and Maggie; grand bird, Sunshine.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated with a memorial service held at a later date at Fellowship Baptist Church in Hahira, Georgia. Kind words and expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at
