Ernest "Mitch" Mitchell – 71
Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. He was born on September 23, 1945 in Haines City, FL to the late James B. and Lenora Gunn Mitchell. He was an active member of the Lake Park Christian Church. He worked in security and loved working in his yard. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bryant Mitchell, Claude Mitchell, Grady Mitchell; a sister, Lucille Fleming; a step son, Jackie Carter and a step daughter, Linda Gail Rumph.
Survivors include his Loving Wife of over 32 years, Melba Miller of Valdosta, GA; Daughter & Son-in-Law, Tina & Patrick Bennett of Gainesville, GA; Step Daughters, Lori Blanton of Lakeland, GA, Peggy Krizovsky of Valdosta, GA; Stepson, John H. Miller, Jr. of Lake Park, GA; Step Daughter-in-Law, Teresa Carter of Lake Park, GA; Step Son-in-Law, Kenneth Rumph of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren: Madison Bennett, Grayson Bennett, both of Gainesville, GA; Jay Carter Kelsey, Alice Browning, Kristopher Krizovsky, all of Valdosta, GA; Alyssa Blanton of Lakeland and Little Melba Miller of Lake Park, GA; Great Grandchildren, Cayden, Brianna, Gabbie, Natalie; Brothers & Sisters, Clyde Mann, Mack Mitchell, Glenn Mitchell, Cecil Mitchell, Carl Mitchell, Betty McCarthy, Pauline Savage, Christine Decker, Junior Mitchell; Mother of his Daughter, Joan Mitchell of Lawrenceville, GA; and Fur-baby, Baby.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in the Lake Park Christian Church with burial to follow in Dasher Cemetery. He will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to services. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
