Gerard “Jerry” M. Dickerson – 81
Of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family on February 8, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center after fighting a long battle with COPD. He was born in Baltimore on November 3, 1938, the loving son of John and Eleanor Mueller Dickerson.
After serving in the Marines, he established a long successful career in sales and married the love of his life, Joan A. Dickerson (Diegelman), together sharing over 57 years of happiness. Jerry was passionate about the outdoors and loved boating and RTV adventures. Additionally, two of his favorite pastimes were flying model airplanes and attending military air shows.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother John (Jack) Dickerson. His survivors include his: Wife, Joan Dickerson; Children: Bryan Dickerson and wife April of Sharpsburg, GA and Sean Dickerson and wife Patricia of Orlando, Florida; Grandchildren: Brandon Dickerson, Tristian Dickerson, Maxwell Dickerson, Amanda Baker; Siblings: Cathy D. Moore of Bristow Virginia, Carolyn D. Appel of Bel Air Maryland, Nelson Dickerson of Bel Air Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 in The Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour before services.
