Charles Stephen Yates – 62 Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022. Mr. Yates was born in Huntington, West Virginia on April 14, 1960 to the late Charles Edward and Maryann Thomas Yates. He worked as a trouble shooter and millwright having worked in nuclear power plants. He proudly served our country in the United States Marines and was currently working toward his doctorate degree. Mr. Yates was a creative man and he showed that through his love for writing and as a master builder. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved children and had a special love for his dog, Baron. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Ida Yates of Valdosta, Georgia; children: Angie (Nicholas) Clark, Valdosta, Georgia; Olivia (Drew) Thomas, Jacksonville, Florida; Natalie (David Nolan) Roseberry, Jacksonville, Florida; Christopher (Abby) Yates, Alaska; Gary Roseberry, Valdosta, Georgia; Grandchildren: Thomas Gordon; Terrell Harris; Michael Rodney; and Jake Thomas. Per the family's wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
