Dean Ray Sikes Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ray Sikes – 65 Of Howell, Georgia passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at his home. Mr. Sikes was born March 9, 1957 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Dean Ruel and Myrtle “Honey” Sikes. Ray owned and operated “Sikes Saw Mill” and helped produce the lumber to build the family homes. He made his career as an electrician and retired after almost 50 years. He enjoyed being outside, fishing, working in the yard, and watching it rain. By far his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Ray was an active member of Wrights Chapel UMC in Echols County. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sikes was preceded in death by his son, Jason Deen. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debbie Sikes of Howell, Georgia; daughters: Abbie (Allen) McLeod of Lake Park, Georgia and Deana Stevenson of Blue Ridge, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Kelly (Tristan) Shaffer of Irmo, South Carolina; grandchildren: Haley McLeod, Tyler Stevenson, Cole Stevenson, Andrew Deen, and Sophia Shaffer; one brother, George (Karen) Sikes of Howell, Georgia; one sister Audrey (Phil) Scott of Dublin, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 12, 2022 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
