Hilda Jean Hendley – 70 Of Lakeland passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 in the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. She was born in Valdosta, Georgia on July 8, 1951 to the Late W. Henry and Gertrude Roberts Patten. She was a graduate of Lanier County High School Class of ’69. She enjoyed her job as Senior Bank Teller at Farmers and Merchants Bank in Lakeland. She loved spending time with her family, watching her grandkids participate in sports, relaxing on the beach, and loving her kitties. One of Hilda’s great loves in life was watching her beloved Lanier County Bulldogs Basketball team, where she could be found center court at every contest. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Carlton H. Young who was missing in action during the Korean War. Survivors include her devoted and loving husband of 27 years, David Hendley, Lakeland, Georgia; children, Andy Browning, Lakeland, Georgia, Clint Browning and wife Holly, Lakeland, Georgia, Paul Hendley and wife Melissa, Naylor, Georgia, Clint Hendley and wife Brandi, Clyattville, Georgia, Lorraine Drown and husband Josh, Charlotte, North Carolina, Melanie Ceasear and husband Jesse, Lake Park, Georgia, Cole Hendley and wife Megan, Argyle, Georgia; grandchildren: Josh Browning, Jarrett Browning, Landen Browning, Charlie Browning, Devin Harrison (Mathew), Millie Browning, Harper Browning, Addyson Hendley, Jackson Hendley, Haylee Denton (Nick), Gideon Ceasear, Olivia Ceasear; great grandchild, Aubrey Harrison; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 10 O’clock A.M. in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following at Empire Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the funeral home.
