Hubert Coolidge “Cooge” Stapleton – 91 Of Valdosta passed away at his residence on Sunday, July 25, 2021. He was born in Pennington Gap, Virginia on April 6, 1930 to the late George and Stella Robins Stapleton. He was an assembly line worker for General Motors and loved to argue with his family. He enjoyed drawing, listening to the radio and loved old Southern Gospel music. He was always smiling. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include: nieces, Joyce McConnell and her husband Troy of Valdosta, Brenda Fletcher of Valdosta, Georgia and Donna Jones of Norton, Virginia; nephews, Rick McFarland and wife Lunette of Nashville, Georgia and Luther Davis and his wife Julie of Maynardville, Tennessee; numerous great nieces, great nephews, friends and extended family. The family wishes to express thanks to special great great nieces Tonia Hall and her husband Earnest of Valdosta, Georgia Lillie McConnell of Valdosta, Georgia and great great nephews Joseph Hawks and Billy Hall all of who assisted in his care. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. at About My Father’s Ministry. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
