Patricia “Pat” Ann Evans, age 76, of Valdosta, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family. Pat was born on June 3, 1945 to the late Gladys Irene Touchton Casteen and Asa Judson Casteen in Jasper, Florida. Before retiring, Pat worked for the Lowndes County school system as the driver of bus #17 before driving bus #91. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, enjoyed working in her yard and was known as “firebug” because of her love for burning leaves and limbs. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James Alton Evans; son in-law: Robert Guthrie and her brother and four sisters. Survivors include: daughters, Janiece E. Guthrie of Valdosta, Melissa E. Suggs and husband Bill of Valdosta, and Darlene Fowler of Pavo; sons, Keith Evans and wife Melissa of Lake Park, and Kevin Evans of Hahira; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brother, Revis Casteen and wife Patsy of Valdosta; a special sister-in-law: Glenda Sirmans of Bainbridge; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock, Tuesday morning, May 31, 2022 in the chapel of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta with interment at Lake Park cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Monday, May 30, 2022 in the funeral home.
