Stephen “Allen” Wiegand, age 56, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at South Georgia Medical Center. Allen was born November 15, 1965 in Jonesboro, Georgia to Sandra Bailey Strickland and the late Stephen Richard Wiegand. He was a loving husband, dad and granddad who was good at anything he put his hands on. Allen loved electronics, computers, motorcycles and dirt bikes, but his first love was music. He enjoyed playing drums and taught himself to play piano. Allen made his career in law enforcement, serving for 16 years with the Forest Park Police Department where he achieved the rank of Uniform Captain. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Richard Wiegand. Allen is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Lisa Ann Wiegand of Valdosta, Georgia; children: Ryan Ferguson and wife Holli, Stephen Wiegand, Stephanie Wiegand and Spencer Wiegand, all of Valdosta, Georgia; two grandchildren: Emberlyn Ferguson and Hayden Ferguson, both of Valdosta, Georgia; sister, Ronda W. Valentine of Atlanta, Georgia; his mother, Sandra Bailey Strickland and husband Johnny of Locust Grove, Georgia; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Iris and Darden Pierce of Valdosta, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 2, 2022 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens.
