Susie Latrelle Chisholm

July 4, 1928 - November 5, 2020

Susie Latrelle Chisholm – 92 of Ray City, Georgia passed away on Thursday November 5, 2020 in her home after a lengthy illness. Susie was born on July 4, 1928 in Nashville, Georgia to the late Susie (Ray) and F.W. Shaw. She worked as a beautician for many years. She impacted so many lives through the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service in Lanier County. She also had a big impact on many 4-H students. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sharing her food with others. Mrs. Chisholm was blessed with a “Green Thumb” and spent many hours in her yard where anyone riding by knew they had arrived at her home of all the blooming flowers. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. Chisholm, brothers, Otis Shaw, Gerald Shaw and sister, Lawanna Maples. Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Connie Lightsey (Lee) of Barney, GA, Debbie Maples of Valdosta, GA, Sandy Morgan (Hershell) of Valdosta, GA, Sherrie Maples of Valdosta, GA, Brenda Fowler (Greg) of Hahira, GA, Gary Shaw of Tifton, GA, Donna Barker (William) of Ray City, GA, Cheryl Johnson (Rick) of Nashville, GA, Becky Lipp (Edwin) of Japan, Susan Weaver (James) of Ray City, GA; Great Nieces and Nephews: Randy Lightsey (Brandi) of Hahira, GA, Michelle Ricketts (David) of Virgina, Melissa Griffin, Farrah Howell, Dylan Miley (Ashley) of Valdosta, GA, Justin Miley of Hahira, GA, Abby Barker, Hugh Barker of Ray City, GA, Gary Mitchell (Brooke) of Tifton, GA, Whitney Browning of Nashville, GA, Spencer Johnson of Nashville, GA, Dianna Johnson of Nashville, GA, Shaw Vickers (Savanna) of Adel, GA, Shelby Vickers of Ray City, GA, Michael Lipp (Traci) of Oregan; Several great great nieces and nephews; Special friends: Mattie Ann and Everett Burnsed, Ann Robinson and Billy DeAlgo; A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Hospice of South Georgia.
