Walter Kenneth Griner, Sr. Of Quitman, Georgia passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Brooks County Hospital. He was born October 17, 1945 in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Walter Griner and Ruby Lee (Rogers) Skinner. Mr. Griner honorably served our country for 7 years in the United States Navy where he fought in the Vietnam War. He loved fishing and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching Western Shows on TV. In addition to his parents, Mr. Griner was preceded in death by his sons, Jesse Griner and Kenny Joe Griner and one brother, Roger Griner. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Griner of Quitman, Georgia; children: Charlotte (Scott) Browning of Morven, Georgia, Paul DeLoach (Jennifer) of Troupeville, Georgia, Walter Kenneth Griner, Jr (Michelle) of Valdosta, Georgia, Yolanda Jones (Sanford) of Williston, North Dakota, Charles Griner (Heather) of Blairsville, Georgia, Larry Griner (Paula) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Larry Griner (Lina) of Valdosta, Georgia; sister, Karen Shealey (Curtis) of Valdosta, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in the chapel of Music Funeral Services, Valdosta with Pastor Donnie Bailey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery, Morven, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, May 9, 2022 at the funeral home.
