Morven

Adam W. Raines, age 15, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully May 19, 2026, at Author M. Blank Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born on December 8, 2010 in Winter Haven, Polk County, Florida to amazing parents, Melissa G. Raines and Earle R. Raines. He is survived by his parents; 4 brothers, Jacob M. Raines, David M. Raines, Noah R. Raines and Jude R. Raines; grandparents Albert Raines, Mary Raines, and Ronda Smith; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Adam was not only an amazing individual, but he was also one of a kind- especially with his bright red hair. He loved each and every one of his brothers so much. He always made everyone in his life laugh no matter who it was. He was always helping people. If they ever said they didn’t need help, he would always say God told him to help. They would always let him help whenever he said that. He wouldn’t ever take no for an answer no matter how young or old the person was. He was never scared to be himself even in front of strangers.

Adam was the friendliest kid you would ever meet. He would always try to cheer you up if you had a bad day or even a good day. He was loved by everyone he met even if they didn’t know him. He enjoyed giving to others, swimming, fishing, playing with hot wheels, going to church, collecting Pokémon, and annoying his brothers.

His favorite thing to do when he was home was to grab his dog, Copper, and just cuddle him. Copper would never leave Adam’s side. Whenever we had to go somewhere Copper would wait by the door for Adam to return. Whenever he did return, Copper would immediately run to greet him by jumping all over him and licking his face. When it was time for bed Adam would yell for Copper and he would hop up in the bed right next to Adam. Adam would put on country or gospel music and snuggle with Copper until they both went to sleep.

A celebration of Adam’s life will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Redland Baptist Church of Valdosta. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider bringing a new stuffed animal to be donated to children’s hospitals in Adam’s memory at a later date. Also consider bringing Pokémon cards and hot wheel cars for his family to keep in his memory. The family requests friends and family to wear bright colored clothing in honor of his bright and colorful spirit. Pokémon clothing is welcomed and encouraged.
