Adolphus "Dolph" Henry Hatcher – 79
Of Valdosta, GA passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. He was born on March 9, 1935 in Spring Hill, TN to the late O.C. and Cynthia Hatcher. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and retired as a postal clerk from the US Post Office. He graduated from George Peabody College with a degree in Music. Dolph played in the Nashville, TN Symphony and the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra in percussion, specializing in timpani. Dolph's hobby was collecting stamps and he was an honorary life member of the Poway Stamp Club in California. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Will Hatcher and Kebie Hatcher and sister, Virginia Manier.
His survivors include his Wife of 52 years, Mary Liz Elizabeth Hatcher of Valdosta, GA; Daughters & Sons-in-Law, Bitsy & Kelly Clayton of San Diego, CA, and Anne & Al Turner of Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren, Austin Clayton, Tanner Clayton, Church Barnas, and Aloura Barnas; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Friends and family are invited to the memorial service that will be held at the First United Methodist Church on July 5, 2014 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be placed with the Parkinson's Disease Foundation -- www.pdf.org , The Nashville, TN Symphony, or Little Actor's Theatre in Valdosta. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com . Music Funeral Services will be serving the Hatcher family.
