Of Valdosta passed away Friday December 14, 2007 in Valdosta after a lengthy illness. He was born on June 10, 1925 in Duval County, FL to the late William Osborne & Josephine Chicola Young. Mr. Young served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a Member of Westside Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 13 and 5978 VFW in Nashville. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Young and son-in-law, Thomas B. Pittman.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 16, 2007 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with Pastor Ernie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the funeral home.
