Alene O'Quinn Patten – 98

Of Lakeland passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 surrounded by her family at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born September 19, 1910 in Odum, GA to the Late Ludwell and Irene Browder O'Quinn, and had lived in Lakeland most of her life. Mrs. Patten loved her family, her church, an active member of the First Baptist Church in Lakeland since 1931, she was a very active member of the WMU, and was the secretary of the Ola Guthrie Sunday School Class. Mrs. Patten's gentle kindness was seen many years as a Pink Lady serving patient needs in the Louis Smith Memorial Hospital, and the Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center. Many years she was the treasurer for the Pink Ladies Auxiliary. She was a homemaker loved to cook and garden. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 77 years J.D. Patten, 4 Brothers L.E., Eldred, Harold, and Joe O'Quinn, 2 Sisters Mary Herndon and Helen Poppell.

Ricky Pounds Lakeland, GA, Donnie Patten Stockbridge, GA, Jo Ann Bill Fort Gadsden, AL, Donna Rick Fenchel Jacksonville, FL, Randy Tina Patten – Lakeland, GA, Laurie Rick Sheehan Pheonix City, AL, Bill Robin Davis Oldsmar, FL; 23 Great Grandchildren; 9 Great Great Grandchildren; Brother and Sister-in-Law, Herbert and Faye O'Quinn, Odum, GA; Sisters-in-Law, Jessie Mae O'Quinn, St. Augustine, FL, Helen Warriner, Ransom, W. VA and a large number of Nieces and Nephews

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 21, 2009 in the First Baptist Church in Lakeland with entombment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland. The family will receive friends Monday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Friends and family may choose to give to the Burnt Church Cemetery Fund P.O. Box 426 Lakeland, GA 31635.
