Alonzo Wesley Dub Weldon, Jr.
Of Hahira passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at his residence. He was born June 29, 1930 In Lowndes County to the late Alonzo Wesley & Ethel Mae Tarrent Weldon, Sr. After serving in the United States Navy, Dub Worked for and retired with 37 years from Owens Illinois. He was a member of the International Papermakers Union which he served as a Union official. After retirement, Mr. Weldon enjoyed working with wood and was an avid gardener and fisherman. Along with his parents, Alonzo is preceded in death by 2 sons, Andy Weldon, Steve Weldon, and Brothers David Weldon, Isaac Weldon
Survivors include: Wife, Margaret Weldon, Hahira, GA; Daughter, Debra Brooks, Valdosta, GA; Son & Daughter-in-Laws, Ronnie & Donna Weldon, Valdosta, GA; Daughter-in-Laws, Karen Weldon , Statenville, GA, Sharon Respess, Hahira, GA; Brothers & Sister-in-Law, Bill Weldon, Pigeon Forge, TN, Gene & Shirley Weldon, Ringgold, VA; Sister-in-Law, Jewell Weldon, Columbus, MS, Virginia Weldon, Valdosta, GA; 11 Grandchildren, ; 3 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces, Nephews Cousins, Great Nieces and Nephews
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Music Funeral Services with Bro. Wayne Hughes officiating burial will follow in Friendship cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 17, 2009 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In Lieu of Flowers please make donations to the Abundant Life Church of God, 3419 Knights Academy Rd., Valdosta, Ga 31605.
