Amelia Ann Player – 33 of Hahira, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Amelia was born on September 18, 1987 in Valdosta, Georgia to Ander Dell Player and Elizabeth Ann (Terrell) Achor. Her battle with breast cancer began in 2012. During the last 8 years, she has fought hard and never once gave up hope. If you ever met Amelia Ann, you know she had the most contagious smile and sweet spirit. Any and all who met Amelia Ann loved her.
She was preceded in death by her Papa Bob Johnston; sister, Amanda Leigh Player, special aunt Karen Achor, and a special friend Kristin Strickland Wade
Survivors include her significant other, Hunter Butler of Hahira, GA; sons: Westin Lee Butler and Koltin Butler of Hahira, GA; Father and Road Warrior, Ander Dell Player of Hahira, GA; Mother and Stepfather, Elizabeth Ann & Rich Achor of Yadkinville, North Carolina; Brothers: Nick and Alex Achor of North Carolina; Sister, Amber Anderson of Valdosta GA; Brother, Austin Davis of Tennessee. Grandmother, Bea Folsom of Hahira, GA and Judy King of Lakeland, GA; Papa, Donald Player of Hahira, GA; Aunts/Uncles: Marcia Dodd of Columbus, GA, Steve and Montye Player of Lake Park, GA, Tim and Patricia Wilson of Jasper, GA; Cousins: Dalton and Kristin Mason of Columbus, GA, Kyle and Lindsay Young of Hahira, GA, Ricky Young of Hahira, GA; Great Cousins, Grayson Young and Olivia Jean Mason; Hunter’s parents, Johnny Butler of Quitman, GA and Saye Butler of Jefferson City, Missouri; Special Friends: Lacie Browning, Amy Exum Luke, Trale Nolley, Amanda Marie Baldwin, Sheilah Beasley, Tierney Langdon, Brittany Dupree, Brittany Starr, Miranda Douglas, Judy Myers, David Hughes, Scottie Horne, Fred and Ellen Carlo, A special pastor Mike Davis and the Hahira United Methodist Church Family, as well as a whole Facebook family who followed Amelia’s entire journey.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Hahira United Methodist Church in Hahira, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
