Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA. She was born on January 11, 1939 in Wrightsville, GA to the late Raymond L. and Sadie Mae (Davis) Sammons. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Ray City. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Connell, Sr., her son, Marvin Connell, Jr., a brother, Bobby Sammons and a sister-in-law, Mattie Mae Sammons.
Survivors include her Grandchildren, Matthew Shane Connell of Rapid City, SD, Jason Connell of Seattle, WA; Rachel Connell of Panama City, FL; Sister & Brother-in-Law, Joy & Robert Gaskins of Lakeland, GA;
Brother & Sister-in-Law, Jimmy & Kathy Sammons of Ray City, GA; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, April 14, 2017 at New Ramah Church Cemetery in Ray City, GA. No formal visitation will be held. Messages of sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com . The Connell family will be cared for by the compassionate and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Lakeland, GA.
