On Wednesday, March 14, 2018, God called for Anita Jensen to join him in heaven. Anita was born on September 6, 1948 in Leyte, Philippines, but traveled to Japan, Turkey, Illinois, Florida, and New Mexico before settling down to live in Valdosta where she has lived for over 25 years. She occasionally left to help raise or visit children and grandchildren in California, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas, Florida, Guam, Australia, Virginia, and the Philippines.
She is survived by her son, Anthony; her daughter, Cathleen; her daughter, Sarah; and her dear friend, Inday. She is a proud grandmother to Jacob, Nathan, Logan, and Toran. She is also survived by numerous friends and relatives in the Philippines. A hard worker since she was a child, she was often admired for her work ethic. Her superior performance was recognized at every job she held, leading her to open her own successful business. She was an active member of the Valdosta community; as a landlord, business owner, and a proud supporter of the local VFW’s during bingo nights. Although she held numerous titles, none made her as proud as “Mother” or “Grandmother”. Anita will be fondly remembered by friends and family as a selfless giver, fantastic cook, champion bowler, expert Mahjong player, karaoke singer, and Queen of Bingo. Her grandchildren may specifically remember her because they could always say, “Lola said I could…”.
