Ann Jovainne Moore Parrish, 81 of Lakeland, GA departed this life on June 26, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family after a long illness that she fought with grace and dignity. Jovainne was born in Nashville, GA to the late Rudolph Elisha and Vera Elizabeth Griner Moore, she was also preceded by in death by her infant brother Little Johnny Moore, her infant grandson Nicholas Earl Parrish, and also by her beloved son, Gary Alan Parrish. Jovainne was an active member of Pleasant Way Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Jovainne was also a retired instructor of the Lanier County Center for the mentally challenged for 31 years where she loved and adored the children she served; she was also a volunteer at the retiree military service organization at Moody Field Air Force Base, and was very active in The Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron and district grand deputy, and also enjoyed her time with the Red Hat society.
After retirement her and Edgar enjoyed traveling, being with family and friends and of course she loved her craft and crochet projects, which she shared with many people who were special to her.
Surviving is her husband of 65 years Edgar Livingston Parrish, her children and their spouses, Earl Stanley and Paula Kay Melton Parrish, Lakeland, GA, Daniel Edgar Parrish and Sidney Carl Goss of Ellijay, GA, Patricia Ann Parrish Hinton, Lakeland, GA; her brother and sister in law, Daniel Elisha and Helen Moore, Perry, GA; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who all loved her dearly.
A visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 o’clock at Music Funeral Services in Lakeland, GA. A service to celebrate the life of Jovainne Parrish will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Way Baptist Church in Naylor, GA with The Rev. Bill Watson and the Rev. Bryan Parrish (her grandson) officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland. Her Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Her oldest grandchild, Becky Parrish and her two children Victoria and Roy will sing at the entombment service. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Bethany Hospice, 2700 N.
