Mr. Jernigan was a self-employed painter for over 60 years. In his spare time he loved to fish and working in his garden. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his Son, Timmy Jernigan,

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 12:00P.M. in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Good Hope Cemetery with Evangelist Evans McMullen officiating . The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
