Arnold Eugene Stewart

Gene Stewart, age 75, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away early Friday morning, October 1, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 27, 1946 in Bay Minette, Alabama to Howard and Ethel (Cook) Stewart. He was a loyal employee of Langdale Forest Products for Forty-Five years, where he was the supervisor in the shipping department. He was a member of Redland Baptist Church. He was a very loving husband, dad, granddad, and great granddad. Gene loved all animals especially his dog, Rosie and cat, Bob; he enjoyed sitting on his front porch feeding the birds. He was a very simple man but he loved big. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Stewart, and by two brothers, Lamar Stewart and Donald Stewart. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty years, Patsy Cothron Stewart of Valdosta, Georgia; children, Craig Stewart and wife, Chasta of Nashville, Georgia, Dana Blanton of Hahira, Georgia, Leighann Watley and husband, Jamie of Valdosta, Georgia, Felisha Spells and husband, Eric of Fitzgerald, Georgia; 13 grandchildren, Brandon, Jordon, Blake, Cole, Carley, Cambrie, Alivia, Nadia, Nicolas, Haley, Mackenzie, Brandon, Caleb; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Leon Stewart and wife, Shirley of Statenville, Georgia, Mack Stewart of Valdosta, Georgia; sister, Nancy S. Miley and husband, Jimmy of Hahira, Georgia and numerous nephews and nieces. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Redland Baptist Church Cemetery in Valdosta, Georgia.
