Augustus Edward "Gus" Wilcox

Augustus Edward “Gus” Wilcox, 93, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 in McLeod Medical Center in Dillon, SC. He was a resident of Lakeland, GA since his retirement from Hercules, Inc. but has lived with his daughter in Fairmont, NC for the last four years. Mr. Wilcox was a member of Pleasant Way Baptist Church. He was born on March 7, 1927 in Waycross, GA to the late Frank and Nella Wilcox. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Minnie Faye Bullard and his beloved wife, Susie Nix Wilcox.
Mr. Wilcox is survived by a son, Ed Wilcox and his wife, Maxie; a daughter, Nancy Baxley and her husband, Ronnie; four grandchildren: Meredith Storms, Jennifer Stefanko, Wil Baxley and Lucas Baxley; five great grandchildren and special nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 Rev. Bill Watson and Rev. Ed Wilcox officiating.
