Baltazar "Poppie" Alcala, Jr.

Baltazar "Poppie" Alcala, Jr. – 68 of Valdosta passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville, FL. He was born in Loveland, Colorado on May 20, 1948 to the late Baltazar, Sr and Guadalupe Moreno Alcala. He was of the Catholic faith and a Farmer for 50 years in the plains of Northern Texas. Poppie also worked as an automotive mechanic with his son, Alex at A & M Auto Repair. One of his favorite past times was playing cards which included solitaire and poker. He loved dancing, spending time outdoors and taking his grandchildren to breakfast. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatriz E. Alcala and daughter, Crystal Alcala.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta, Georgia.
