Of Hahira, GA passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on September 26, 1947 in Hahira, GA to Lossie and Peggy Cook Hughes. She graduated from Lanier County High School in 1965. She loved playing with her grandkids and spending time with family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Allan Metts and a step brother, Hubert Hughes.
Survivors include her Husband of 45 years, Ronnie Metts of Hahira, GA; Daughter, Allison & Johnny Brown of Hahira, GA; Sons, Jonathan MettsLori McIntosh of Valdosta, GA, Jammie MettsSchlon Cryst-Stone of Lakeland, GA; 3 Grandchildren, Lexi Metts, Tripp Brown, Landen Brown; Sisters, Carole Finnell of Memphis, TN, Ruth Hollingsworth of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services will be at 10:00AM on Saturday, August 9, 2014 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in the Unity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lakeland, GA.
The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the funeral home.
