Barbara Pierce Murray

Barbara Pierce Murray, 81, of Lakeland, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Lakeland Villa. She was born on May 31, 1944, in Homerville, Georgia, to the late R.M. Pierce and Maggie Bass Pierce.

Barbara spent many years working in accounting with International Paper, where she was known for her dedication and attention to detail. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially gardening and tending to her flowers.

A gifted cook and gracious host, Barbara loved preparing meals for her family and friends. Whether it was a pool party with her children, a gathering with her church family, or a visit from friends, she delighted in bringing people together around the table.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Murray; sisters,Jean Permenter, Virginia Ganas and Brenda Ray (Howard); her brother, Roy Pierce (Liz).

She is survived by her children: Kellie & John Tipler of Naples, FL and Kristie & Scott Childers Helena, AL; grandchildren: Chase Thomas Wright of Naples, FL of, CPL Luke Barfield Childers, Marine Corps of Helena, AL, PFC Jack Sherod Childers, United States Army of Helena, AL; sisters: Sharon Ramsey & Freddy of Valdosta, GA, Sandra & Larry Luke of Lakeland, GA; brother-in-law, Winston Ganas of Lakeland, GA; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Pleasant Way Baptist Church Cemetery, Naylor.
