Of Lakeland, GA passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born to the late Albert Barnes Thomas, and Alice Mae Thomas on October 19, 1938 in Shelbyville, TN. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Ray Thomas and James L. Thomas, four sisters, Betty Shapard, Mary Frances Baxter, Pasty Clanton, June Davis. Most people will remember her as owner and operator of The Pole Bender bait and tackle shop in Lakeland, GA. Survivors include her husband of 60 years James Thomas White of Lakeland, GA, daughter and Son-in-law Dianne and Ronald Fate of Lakeland, GA, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Allan and Patrice White of Lakeland, GA, David White of Ray City, GA, Michael and Michelle White of Valdosta, GA. Her beloved grandchildren, Nicole White, Jared and Emily White, Brandon White, Tiffany Fate, Ashley, Cindy and Venessa Thornton. Six great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family Mary, Jacie and Macie Folsom. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 25, 2016 in the Lakeland chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Valdosta, GA.
