Bennie Theron Chandler, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on November 11, 2015.
He graduated cum laude from North Georgia College and worked for Gold Kist in Atlanta prior to retiring.
Bennie's two children, Danielle and William, were perhaps his proudest achievements and the apples of his eyes. His kind and generous heart grew even bigger with the arrival of the grandest of all children, Kayla and Savannah his two grandchildren. He could often be found reading the paper, shopping online, watching football with William or at the grocery store with Danielle. A man of few words, Bennie had a laugh that was unforgettable and a sense of humor to match.
An advocate of gun rights, he was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. Bennie enjoyed fishing, camping, grilling out and spending time with his family.
Bennie is preceded in death by his father Bennie C. Chandler; survived by his mother, Marguerite Chandler, sister, Louisa Chandler, immediate family include Patti S. Chandler, Danielle C. Tapley, William T. Chandler and two granddaughters, Kayla and Savannah Tapley and his little buddy, Buddy the poodle.
A memorial service is to be held at 6:00PM on Saturday, November 14, 2015 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
