Of Lakeland, Georgia passed away Sunday morning, December 21, 2008 at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born April 11, 1918 in Elbert County, GA to the late Seaburn and Willie Partain. She was retired from Levi Strauss & Co. as a seamstress after more than 20 years of service and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Massey was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Massey, son, Jack Massey and Son-in-law, Joyce L. Moore.
Survivors include: 2 Sons & Daughters-in-law, Jerry & Margaret Massey, Thomasville, GA, Jesse & Nita Massey, Ray City, GA; 4 Daughters & Sons-in-law, Betty Ashburn , Lakeland, GA, Judie Moore & David Earp, Lakeland, GA, Mary Ann & Curtis Wilson, Griffin, GA, Donnas & Jim Payne, Cleveland, TN; 22 Grandchildren and their spouses, 36 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following at Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday Night, December 22, 2008 at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com . Music Funeral Services of Lakeland is serving the Massey family.
