Bessie Lou Clanton

Of Valdosta, GA passed away Monday, September 14, 2009 after a lengthy illness. She was born June 14, 1926 in Berrien County to the late Mack Joseph “Major” and Ilah Clements Love. She reared her family in Lanier County for half her life then the latter years in Lowndes. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Dorthy Love, Ethel & J.D. Brogdon, Anna Lee & Joe Wegman, Jeanette Clayton Bennett, Buddy Clayton, Loran Bennett and Earl Durrance.

We have lost a precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Bessie loved God, had a deep faith in him, was greatful for her longevity, and was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She embraced life with every moment God gave her, and will surely be missed.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following at Empire Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday night, September 16, 2009 at the funeral home.
