Of Valdosta passed away Thursday morning July 1, 2004 in South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Moultrie, Georgia on September 27, 1920 to Alexander Campbell Powell, Sr. and Mary Edna Gilchrist Powell. She grew up in Moultrie Colquitt County on her parents dairy farm Powell Dairy. Beth graduated from Moultrie High School. She had worked with Sears and Roebuck in Bainbridge, Ga. for several years before working with Independent Life Insurance in Thomasville, Ga. She had also worked with Woodcock Farms in Moultrie before retiring in 1998.
Beth had won several awards from her sales achievement with Independent Life Insurance and was honored in the southeast region as Top Insurance salesperson. She was a dedicated person in anything she set her mind and heart to do. Her most heartful dedication and love was to her five sons, whom she loved so dearly and devoted her life to them. She was a Christian and a member of the Presbyterian faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, five sisters, two husbands: Auldon F. Jordan, Sr.; Glenn H. Cross, Sr.; and one son, Auldon F. Jordan, Jr.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday morning July 3, 2004 in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Hillman Hendley officiating.
