Betty Jo Cook, age 72, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026. She was born in New Port, TN on August 30, 1953, to loving parents Hugh and Pauline Cagle Bradshaw.
She was married to the love of her life, Winston Cook, for 49 wonderful years, sharing a lifetime filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories. A dedicated secretary with J.T. Industrial Contractors for many years, she was known for her strong work ethic, professionalism, and kind spirit. Above all, she treasured her family and found her greatest joy in spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Betty had a passion for cooking and decorating, creating a warm and welcoming home for those she loved. She also enjoyed escaping to the mountains, where she found peace, beauty, and happiness in nature. Her loving heart, gentle presence, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Betty is survived by her loving husband; sons, Jeremy Cook (Nancy) of Valdosta, GA, Timothy Cook of Albany, GA and Trever Cook (Toni) of Sylvester, GA; grandchildren, Tanner Cook, Tyler Cook, Kaitlyn Cook, Taylor Cook, Emma Spell, Payton Cook, Charlie Cook, Palmer Cook and Paxton Cook; great grandchildren, Bentley Cook, Carter Griffin, Presley Cook and Waylon Cook; brother; Roy Bradshaw of Williamstown, NJ; brothers in law, Johnny Cook of Valdosta, GA and Danny Cook (Helen) of Lakeland, GA and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, June 5, 2026, in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior. An entombment to follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Kind words and expressions in sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com.
