Betty J. Criswell – 80
Of Valdosta passed away November 22, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Florence, SC on January 4, 1934 to the late Alexander & Frances Nicholson Snelling. She was an active member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Shelly Renee Criswell and brother, William "Bill" Snelling.
Survivors Include: Husband of almost 59 years, Terry "Cris" Criswell, Valdosta, GA; 2 Sons: Michael Criswell, Marietta, GA, Doug Criswell, Valdosta, GA; 2 Grandchildren: Stacy Shobert Bubba and Shane Criswell; Great Grandson: Brody Shobert; 3 Sisters & Brother-in-laws: Mary & Louis Hendren, Crystal River, FL, Dot & Jim Satterwhite, Crystal River, FL, Gloria & Bill Peete, Hickory, NC; 2 Brothers: Al "Sonny" Snelling, The Villages, FL, James Snelling, Ocala, FL; Sister-in-law, Tonya Snelling, Miami, FL and a large number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in New Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. She will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday night, November 24, 2014 at the funeral home.
