Betty Jean Ganas – 83
Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta, GA. She was born on November 10, 1933 in Lakeland, GA to the late Bascum L. and Harriett (Hatcher) Lewis. She was an active member of Pleasant Way Baptist Church in Naylor, GA. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher Ganas and a sister, Dolly Pound.
Survivors include her Daughters & Sons-in-Law, Janice & Roy Smith of Valdosta, GA, Joyce & Willie Mello of Dallas, GA; Sons & Daughter-in-Law, Larry & BJ Ganas of Valdosta, GA, Nelson Ganas of Lakeland, GA; 5 Grandchildren, Jared Smith, Tyler Ganas, Chris Mello, Michael Mello, Brandy Ganas; and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Pleasant Way Baptist Church in Naylor, GA with burial to follow in Burnt Church Cemetery in Lakeland, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Music Funeral Services in Lakeland, GA.
