Betty Lou Guenther, 87
Of St. Mary’s, Georgia, formerly of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Magnolia Manor in St. Mary’s, Georgia. She was born on April 25, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late James and Viola Ezell. Betty was a devoted military spouse through and through. She cherished her country, had a deep love for fishing, and was a marvelous dancer—especially when sharing the floor with her husband. Raised in the heart of the Midwest, Betty found joy in simple pleasures like camping under the stars and collecting dolls—each one a small treasure reflecting her warmth and whimsy. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Adrianne Philpott (Josh) of Newnan, Georgia, Mitchell Guenther (Cate) of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Brandon Guenther (Amanda) of St. Mary’s, Georgia, Courtney Walters (Austin Gaskin) of St. Mary’s, Georgia, John Thomas Newsome (Peyton) of Clanton, Alabama, Sarah Jane Hutchinson of Hoover, Alabama, Jennifer Owens (Carl) of St. Louis, Missouri; Great-grandchildren include: Brody Philpott and Macie May Philpott of Newnan, Georgia, Emme and Ewan Guenther of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Bryce Hardwick, Bella Guenther, Luke Guenther, Cora Walters, and Ellie Walters, Madison and Makenzie Newsome of Clanton, Alabama, Davina Rose Hutchinson and Phillip Duane Hutchinson of Hoover, Alabama, Carson Owens of St. Louis, Missouri.
