Betty Gail Mims – 68
Of Lakeland passed away about noon on Monday January 30, 2012 in Crestwood Nursing Home. She was born on December 8, 1943 in Berrien County to the late Harvey & Bernice Crosby Mims. She was a member of the Unity United Methodist Church, the Lakeland City Council and the Mayor Pro-Tem where she served every year except one term since 1983. Ms. Mims served as the president of the Bass and Brim Fishing Club.
She is survived by her
Sisters & Brothers-in-law, Nancy & Clifford Gradwell, Juliette, GA, Patricia & Charles Hodges, Valdosta, GA; Nieces & Nephews, Tammy Mozley Arthur, Selena Hodges Jim, Randi Beesing Lloyd, Cliff Gradwell, II Sarah; Great Nieces and Great Nephew, Chelsea Beesing, Cori Beesing, Tripp Gradwell
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 2, 2012 in Unity United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the funeral home. Ms. Mims will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Unity United Methodist Church, 224 Unity Church Road, Lakeland, GA 31635.
