Betty Bell Watson – 90
Of Lakeland, GA passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on January 13, 1928 in Americus, GA to the late Ralph Frank Bell and Mary Frances Pilcher. Mrs. Watson graduated from Georgia State Women’s College in Valdosta, GA in 1949 with a B.S. degree in Social Work. She was married to Samuel Heyward Watson on March 26, 1950. Mrs. Watson worked as a caseworker at Lanier County DFCS for 21 years and was also the owner and secretary/ treasurer of Lanier Municipal Supply Co., Inc. Mrs. Betty loved playing card games with family and friends, and she enjoyed cooking and gardening as well. She was a member of the Lakeland First United Methodist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Samuel Heyward Watson and sister, Pauline Howle.
Survivors include: Daughter Bridget Corbett of Valdosta, GA, Grandsons Brandon Corbett (Leigh Anne Burns) of Valdosta, GA., Christopher and Roxy Corbett of Valdosta, GA., 2 Great Grandchildren Mason Corbett of Valdosta, GA., Emily Corbett of Valdosta, GA., Niece Paula and Donnie Gray of Lake Panasoffkee, FL., Great Nephew Nick and Lawana Gray of Ocala, FL
Graveside services will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Lakeland GA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the chapel of Music Funeral Services, Lakeland, GA.
