Betty Lou Wood – 87, of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Sunday February 23, 2020 under hospice care. She was surrounded by her loving family members. Betty was born on May 10, 1932 in Lamar, South Carolina to the late Carlton and Cubie (Swilley) Watford. Betty loved the mountains, shopping, and talking on the phone. She also was well known for her canning. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband, Robert Edward Wood, Sr.; Sons, Cliff Wood and Roger Wood; Brothers and Sister-in-Law, Pete Watford, Bobby and Annie Watford.
Survivors include her Sons, Robert Wood and Wife, Diane of Valdosta, Georgia, Weldon Keith Wood of Howell, Georgia, Dean Wood of Valdosta, Georgia; 10 grandchildren: Hope, Michelle, Jessica, Josh, Ryan, Gabriel, David, Shannon, Lauren, Aaron; 14 Great-Grandchildren; 5 Great Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Mattie W. Windham of Valdosta, Georgia; Brother, J. W. Watford and wife Doris of Valdosta, Georgia; Numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service honoring Betty Wood will be at 11:00AM, Wednesday February 26, 2020 in the Swilley Hill Church of God Cemetery. The family will see friends 30 minutes prior to services.
