Of Hahira passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Lowndes County on February 23, 1936 to the late Joseph Edward & Dolly Mae Webb Hodges. Mr. Hodges served in the United States Navy and was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Hodges, brothers, Aubrey Hodges, Ray Hodges and Bob Hodges and a sister, Betty Sims
Survivors include: Wife, Mattie Hodges, Hahira, GA, Daughter & Son-in-law, Tammy & Mike Carter, Lake Park, GA, Son, Ricky Todd Hodges, Hahira, GA, 10 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, Sister & Brother-in-law, Bunny & Billy Spells, Valdosta, GA, A number of nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 21, 2009 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until service time on Thursday, May 21, 2009.
