Billy Russell Latham – 83 of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 in his home after an illness. He was born on February 28, 1937 in Albany, Georgia to the late Amy (Sosbee) and Russell David Latham. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked with VSC as a carpenter for 20 years. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He pastored at the Unity Sabbath Day Church of God until his passing. Billy enjoyed woodworking and was well known for his story telling abilities. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Addie Wiggins Latham; brother, Buddy Latham; sisters: Alma O’Neal, Ethel Atkinson, Lucille Cleveland, Grace Pantone.
Survivors include his children: Tammy Gandy and husband Lane of Valdosta, GA, Billy Latham, Jr. and wife Joyce of Valdosta, GA, Sherry Crews and husband Billy of Statenville, GA; Grandchildren: Gary Moore (Amy) of Stockton, GA, Brandon Gandy (Ashley) of Albany, GA, Justin Moore (Jenna) of Valdosta, GA, Skylar Gandy of Valdosta, GA; Great Grandchildren: Colby Moore of Statenville, GA, Braylee Moore of Stockton, GA, Ellasyn Gandy of Sylvester, GA, Grayson Moore of Stockton, GA; Sister, Joan Dabbs of Albany, GA.; Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday February 11, 2021 in the chapel of Music Funeral Services. A burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Lowndes County, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Messages of sympathy can be left at
