Billy Ray Powers Sr.

Billy Ray Powers, Sr. – 70 of Lake Park, GA passed away on Thursday July 9, 2020 in the South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on February 18, 1950 in Adel, GA to the late Louise (Greene) and Perry Powers. Billy worked most of his life as an auto technician and retired with Smith Tire. He was a loving and dedicated husband. Spending time with his family was the most important thing in his life. After his retirement, Billy loved traveling and fishing. Boiled peanuts were something else he favored. He was well known for his competitive spirit! Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Mark Powers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Margaret Powers of Lake Park, GA; Children: Billy Ray Powers Jr. and wife Kim of Valdosta, GA, Judy Smith and husband Rodney of Valdosta, GA, Charles Bracey and wife Doris of Clearwater, FL, Chris Legette and husband Bob of Marion, SC; Numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to honor Billy’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday July 18, 2020 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
