of Quitman, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at his residence. He was born on May 6, 1961 in Valdosta, Georgia to the Willie Joe Smithie and to the late Hattie (Addison) Godwin. He loved his job at Griner Automotive where he was in the paint and body shop for almost 20 years. His past time hobbies included fishing and hunting. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Weldon and brothers, John Smithie and Steven Smithie.
Survivors include his sister, Brenda Hall (Glenn), Norman Park, Georgia; brothers, James Smithie, Valdosta, Georgia, Jerry Lee Smithie (Christina), Quitman, Georgia, Elwood Godwin (Sonya), Lake Park, Georgia, Harvey Godwin, Quitman, Georgia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com . The Smithie Family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
