Billy Jack Watkins – 87
Of Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at his home. He was born on July 24, 1934 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late David Carl Watkins, Sr and Jimmie Lee (Southall) Watkins. Mr. Watkins worked with Norfolk Southern for 45 years. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jack Allen Watkins and brother, David Watkins.
Survivors include his wife, Elvy Watkins of Valdosta, Georgia; son, William David Watkins, Sr and wife Pang of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter, Kim Lindsey and husband Michael of Amelia Island, Florida; daughter-in-law, Michelle Watkins of Savannah, Georgia; grandchildren: Susan Opp (Chris), Meshalle Limb (Terry), Billy Jack Watkins, Cody Harris, Lauryn Stevens, Mindy Valentine (Harrison), W.D. Watkins, Jr, William Bernhardt (Loretta); brother, Jimmy Watkins and wife Rosemary of Valdosta, Georgia; sister, Faye McElvey of Marietta, Georgia; sister, Nina Hackworth of Valdosta, Georgia; brother, Arta Thomas and wife Darlene of Valdosta, Georgia and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Redland Baptist Church with burial to follow in Redland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the church.
