Blaine Murray – 40
Of Valdosta passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on July 16, 1976 in Valdosta to Steve and Janet Murray of Valdosta. He was a member of Lakeland United Methodist Church. Blaine graduated from Lanier County High School in 1995 and from Valdosta State University with a business finance degree in 1999. He worked with Southland Communication building cellular phone towers and was very proud of obtaining his Florida General Contractors License. Anyone who knew Blaine knew he was kind hearted and would always lend a helping hand. He loved everyone but the apple of his eye was his niece, Vivi. He was preceded in death his sister, Stacy King, grandmother, Virginia Giddens, uncle, Dixie Murray, grandfather, Moy Murray & Robert Corbitt.
Along with his parents he is survived by: Niece, Vivi King, Valdosta; Grandmother, Louelle Corbitt, Valdosta; Aunt & Uncle, Joann & Marshall Mathis, Lakeland; Cousins: Shane Mathis, David Mathis,Shawn Corbitt, April Corbitt, Wade Murray and Jim Murray; Brother-in-law, Jason King, Valdosta and a number of extended family members & Friends.
A celebration of Blaine’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the Lakeland United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Burnt Church Cemetery. Blaine will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to services. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, March 21, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Valdosta.
