She was a sociology professor at South Georgia State College in Douglas. She had a passion for social and environmental activism. One of her favorite quotes was, “There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.”
Along with her parents she is survived by Daughter, Abbie Hancock of Valdosta, GA; Son, Blake Clark of Valdosta, GA; Brother, Patrick (Shannon) McDaniel of Tifton, GA; Sister, Carla Whitaker of Tifton, GA; Several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated and the family will be receiving friends on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 1:00 until 3:00 PM. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.musicfuneralservices.com .
