Bobby Jack Hendley, Sr – 84
Of Lakeland passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 in the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. He was born as the middle child of 10 siblings on November 9, 1937 in Nashville, Georgia to the late Webster and Ollie Green Hendley. In the late 1970s he owned the Lakeland City Barber Shop and then owned his own contracting business, Hendley and Son. He was a member of the Lakeland Congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Howell, Eula Mae, Hubert, Wallace, Hillman, Johnny V, Betty Lou, Ana Ruth and Reghina.
Survivors include: his loving wife Betty W. Hendley of Lakeland, Georgia; daughter Deirdre Anderson (Mark) of Nashville, Georgia; son, Bobby Jack Hendley, Jr. (Sylvia) of Franklin, North Carolina; grandchildren, Debra Karen Lee, Lana Bryant (Lee), Marty Yeomans (Michaela), Tiffany Hendley, Lindsey Young (Jared) Mark Allen Anderson (Tayler), Alizabeth Anderson (Brian); 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorialization will be by cremation and a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11 o’clock a.m. in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Following the service, the family will be gathering at The Patten Cabin, 23 East Chestnut Avenue, Lakeland, Georgia 31635 for food and fellowship and they invite anyone that would like to come.
